Former OnlyFans star Camilla Araujo has launched a pricey course that aims to teach new content creators how to grow in the industry. This came shortly after Araujo announced her retirement from OnlyFans in a 15-minute documentary, “Becoming Her”, that she released on YouTube this New Year’s Day. Forrest Smith, another creator, called out the course after trying it out herself.
Camilla Araujo faces backlash for her course
Camilla Araujo announced her retirement from OnlyFans in her new documentary. She also revealed that she was starting courses that are meant to help young creators looking to build a footing in the industry.
The expense of the course and the timing of the arrival have fans worried. Many have claimed that the course was a scam or a pyramid scheme. And none more convincingly than fellow creator Forrest Smith, who also happens to have experience in growing her social media.
Smith shared a video on TikTok, where she detailed her experience of joining Araujo’s programme. “I signed up for Camilla’s course so you don’t have to,” Smith said (via Blast). “And I’m gonna break down everything about it that seems really scammy to me.”
She further explained, “One thing they do is this whole ‘we’re interviewing to see if you’re the right fit’ thing. That’s just a strategy to make you feel special so you’re more willing to spend $2K to $5K on a course.”
She also claimed that the limited spots claim was fake. “Limited spots available, that’s all bulls**t,” she added, “Please use your critical thinking skills.”
Smith further described that the biggest issue was that all of the things that Araujo was selling were available for free on YouTube. “I’ve blown up many social media accounts on my own,” she said. “And guess how much money I paid to learn how to do that? Zero dollars.” She added, “There’s no secret formula…It’s all on YouTube. Just YouTube it, please.”
Fans also did not seem very pleased with Araujo’s course, with many fans calling it out in the comments of Araujo’s post. “There’s no way you guys are taking her seriously, right?” one user wrote, while another user added, “I honestly had way more respect for you doing OF rather than this MLM scheme.” Another user added, “Scamilla.”
It seems that Camilla Araujo’s new venture is not off to the greatest of starts. Perhaps it could change if users find real benefits from her course.
