During the video clip, she sounded emotional. However, she said that this is a “good thing” for her, as it allowed her to “slow down” and “have a more restful finish” to 2025.

Evangeline Lilly is keeping her spirits high and is not giving up. The 46-year-old recently shared a video clip on Instagram, talking in detail about a recent health diagnosis. The actor said in the video, “It’s late on January 1st, the first day of 2026. And I’m entering into this new year, the Year of the Horse, with some bad news about my concussion. A lot of you asked how I am doing. A lot of you have enquired about the brain scans that you heard I got.”
Talking about the results of the tests, she continued, “The results came back from the scans, and almost every area of my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.” She further revealed that she does have “brain damage from TBI.”
She further said that now her job is to “get to the bottom of that with the doctors” and “embark on the hard work of fixing it.” Despite the diagnosis, Lilly has seen a silver lining in the situation. She shared with viewers, “But that’s OK. My cognitive decline since I smashed my face open has helped me to slow down and helped me to have a more restful finish to my 2025.”
She continued, “I think this was the calmest, most restful Christmas holiday I have had maybe since I had children, so 14 years ago. So that’s a good thing.”
