Watch Jimmy Kimmel Roast Donald Trump After Critics Choice Award Win

Jimmy Kimmel accepted the Critics’ Choice award for Best Talk Show during the 31st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, and took the opportunity to aim once more at his most frequent target, President Donald Trump. He thanked the President for his efforts, claiming that without Trump, Kimmel would have had to go back empty-handed.

Jimmy Kimmel, along with three of Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s executive producers, took the stage to receive the Critics’ Choice award for Best Talk Show. Kimmel addressed the win. “FIFA Peace Prize would have been better, but this is nice too,” he said, referring to the award that FIFA created for President Donald Trump.

Kimmel went on to thank executives at ABC, like Dana Walden and Rob Mills. He added, “Sam Altman, who now owns my voice and face. Please don’t do anything weird with it.” This was a dig at Disney’s billion-dollar deal with OpenAI last month.

Kimmel also discussed the time his show was pulled off the air in 2025 after his comments about Charlie Kirk. Public outcry ultimately made sure that the show was back on air.

Finally, he directly addressed Donald Trump, who has been Kimmel’s most frequent target on the show. “And most of all, I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom, we would be going home empty-handed tonight,” he said, pulling out the long-running gag of using different monikers for Trump’s middle name on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The talk show host continued, “So thank you, Mr. President, for all the many ridiculous things you do each and every day. It’s been a banner couple of weeks, and we can’t get wait to get back on the air tomorrow night to talk about them.”

Kimmel remains a vocal critic of the current government and takes every opportunity to emphasize the same.
