Tyler Perry Accuser’s Past Messages Surface Amid Assault Case — Report

Shortly after Tyler Perry was accused of another sexual assault in a new lawsuit, new details have emerged about the connection between Perry and his accuser. This deviates sharply from what the accuser initially claimed in the lawsuit. It seems that, unlike what he mentioned in the lawsuit, the Boo! A Madea Halloween actor, Mario Rodriguez, continued to keep in touch with Perry years after the alleged assaults.

Reports claim Tyler Perry accuser sent friendly messages

Mario Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against Tyler Perry, accusing the filmmaker of multiple instances of sexual assault. This is the second lawsuit against Perry. However, the latest reports indicate that Rodriguez remained in touch with Perry years after the alleged assaults.

In the lawsuit filed in California, Rodriguez accused the Hollywood mogul of sexual assault and unwanted sexual advances between 2014 and 2019, alleging that he subsequently cut off all contact with Perry. However, recent screenshots obtained by Associated Press seem to tell a different story.

In the messages obtained by AP, Rodriguez can be seen initiating contact with Perry as recently as August 2025. Rodriguez has expressed gratitude, friendship, and financial distress to Perry in the texts.

In one of the messages, Rodriguez told Perry that he appreciated the filmmaker “to the moon” for helping him out during a difficult time. The most recent text that Rodriguez sent Perry noted that he was going through health problems and did not have insurance.

After this surfaced, Rodriguez gave out a statement on Monday. “When someone has influence over your career, your income, your future, you don’t feel free,” he said in the statement released through lawyer Jonathan Delshad. “Survivors often stay cordial. They often ask for help when they feel desperate. That does not mean abuse didn’t happen,” the statement continued.

The statement added, “Continued financial support and access are not inconsistent with abuse—they are often part of the power dynamics that follow it. In many situations involving exploitation, money can function as a way to manage guilt, avoid conflict, or maintain silence.”

Meanwhile, Alex Spiro has continued to dispute the claim, saying, ” I said it before, and I will say it again,…This is nothing but a $77 million money grab scam.”
