Cristiano Ronaldo is nearing a rare milestone of 1,000 career goals. Fresh off the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, the Al-Nassr star isn’t done scoring, despite injuries. At almost 41, Ronaldo’s drive for goals, trophies, and records shows no signs of slowing down.

At an awards ceremony in Dubai, where he was named Best Middle East Player, Ronaldo said the milestone is within reach. He added that it doesn’t matter if he plays in the Middle East or Europe; he just wants to keep winning and scoring. Ronaldo said staying injury-free is key, and if that happens, he believes he can reach the record. “It doesn’t matter if I play in the Middle East or Europe. I want to keep winning and reach the milestone everyone talks about. I’m confident I can do it if I stay injury-free,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo is closing in on 1,000 career goals. He scored twice in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Al-Akhdoud, bringing his total to 956. That game also gave Al-Nassr their 10th straight Saudi Pro League win, keeping them at the top. Ronaldo and teammate Joao Felix both have 12 league goals, leading the Golden Boot race and showing their strong form as a team.
Even with occasional questions about his role for Portugal, coach Roberto Martinez has defended Ronaldo. He praised his professionalism, leadership, and scoring talent. Ronaldo has already scored 40 goals in 2025, performing at a level few players reach, even in their best career years. His fitness and sharpness remain top-notch, showing that the 1,000-goal milestone is well within reach. Ronaldo’s goals go beyond numbers. “I love this event because I meet amazing people, including my wife. Playing is demanding, but I still have the passion and motivation to keep going,” he said.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese football icon and one of the greatest players. He started his professional career at Sporting Lisbon, then moved to Manchester United. Later, he joined Real Madrid, becoming their all-time top scorer, before playing for Juventus. As of late 2025, he plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
