Taylor Swift bumps up release date for final two End of an Era episodes

Disney+ has moved up the release of the final two episodes of Taylor Swift’s documentary series The End of an Era, bringing the project to an earlier conclusion than initially planned.

Episodes five and six will now premiere on December 23 at 12 a.m. PT, moving up from their original December 26 release date. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the streaming service’s official account posted, “As an early gift to fans around the world, the final two episodes will premiere early on December 23 at 12am PT, only on Disney+.” The post was accompanied by a short clip that teases footage from Episodes 3 and 4.

The revised schedule comes as the docuseries continues its rollout on Disney+. Episodes 3 and 4 remain set to debut on December 19 at 12 a.m. PT, following the premiere of the first two episodes on December 12. The docuseries offers fans an extensive behind-the-scenes look at Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour and the creative process behind it.

End of an Era documents the planning, rehearsals, and execution of the Eras Tour. In the opening episodes, Swift explains that the tour was born during a challenging period that included the sale of her original music catalog, her decision to rerecord her early albums, and the uncertainty brought on by the global health pandemic.

The series also explores the logistical scale of the tour, which included an extended three-hour runtime, elaborate production design, and a huge setlist. Members of Swift’s touring team, such as musicians and dancers, are also featured prominently in the docuseries. Additional moments highlighted in the early episodes include emotional discussions about canceled performances.
