Kate Hudson & Seth Meyers Make Solid Plans To Go Day Drinking

During a visit to “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Kate Hudson asserted that she wanted a spot on Seth Meyers’ popular “Day Drinking” segment. The actor appeared on the show to discuss her new film, “Song Sung Blue,” but the conversation took a spirited turn after Meyers mentioned his recent day drinking session with pop star Sabrina Carpenter. Hudson jokingly took offense.

Kate Hudson plans to go day drinking with Seth Meyers: ‘Great, I’m in’

During the segment, when Seth Meyers mentioned going day drinking with Sabrina Carpenter, Kate Hudson said, “Oh, don’t even — no!” A confused Meyers asked, “What’s wrong?” To this, Hudson clarified, “You’re supposed to go day drinking with me,” adding, “I feel like I need to audition for this or something.” Hudson didn’t hesitate when Meyers asked if she was “really up for it?”

Hudson joked, “Not only that, I think since you know a lot of the cast of ‘Running Point,’ I think we should do it.” She affirmed that she wanted “a group day drinking” session. Meyers then closed the segment with, “This is a fantastic audition,” prompting Hudson to say, “Great, I’m in. I feel like it’s going to happen.”

Before making the drinking plans, Hudson discussed her role in “Song Sung Blue,” which hits theaters on Christmas Day. The film tells the true story of Mike and Claire Sardina, a married couple who formed a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder. Hudson stars alongside Hugh Jackman, whom she described as having boundless energy.

The interview highlighted the emotional nature of the film, which Hudson described as a “tearjerker,” noting that the real-life events the couple faced are “literally unbelievable.” The role has already earned Hudson a Golden Globe nomination, a nod she celebrated with the studio audience.

By the end of the segment, Kate Hudson suggested a group drinking session involving the cast of her Netflix series “Running Point,” though Seth Meyers joked he might not trust some of their mutual friends in that setting. Regardless of the guest list, Hudson seems locked in for a future round at the bar.
