Brad Pitt gets major win against Angelina Jolie
The ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over the winery has gotten a major update. According to the recent court ruling on December 17, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Jolie to turn over previously withheld communications pertaining to the case.
“The Court orders Jolie to produce in full, within 45 days of this Order, unredacted versions of the communications exchanged between non-attorneys in the 22 documents identified on Jolie’s February 14, 2025 privilege log with the Document ID numbers set forth in the Appendix to this Order,” the official document says (via PEOPLE).
The ruling requires Jolie to hand over unredacted copies of specific non-attorney communications that she previously withheld by citing privilege. Speaking to the outlet, an insider shared that Pitt’s legal team believes “the emails would prove Jolie has been disingenuous since the start regarding her true intentions about selling her share of the business to Stoli.”
Meanwhile, Jolie’s legal representative, Paul Murphy, has made an official response to the ruling. In a statement shared with PEOPLE, he informed, “We’re disappointed by the court’s interpretation of California’s privilege law. The court’s ruling violates that law, undermines Ms. Jolie’s fundamental right to a fair trial, and represents yet another manifestation of Mr. Pitt’s years-long effort to harass and control her. We will appeal.”
Pitt and Jolie’s legal tussle over the French estate began in 2022, six years after their separation. Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie. He claimed that she had broken their agreement not to sell their stake without each other’s approval. The Maleficent actress contested the claim, alleging that Pitt is “waging a vindictive war against” her.
