Taylor Swift Was Left Off Vogue’s 2025 Best-Dressed List

Vogue’s annual best-dressed roundup is always an important fashion moment. Naturally, this year’s list has sparked conversation about who made the cut and who didn’t. While several pop stars earned praise for their standout style in 2025, one of the most talked-about omissions was Taylor Swift. The “Life of a Showgirl” singer’s absence has surprised fans, given her prolific year in both music and fashion.

Taylor Swift is not on Vogue’s best-dressed list

Vogue recently unveiled its list of the 55 Best Dressed People of 2025, celebrating stars who, according to Vogue’s editors, defined the year through bold, creative, and influential fashion choices. The list featured several music heavyweights, including Rihanna, Chappell Roan, Laufey, Doechii, and Tyla. However, Taylor Swift did not appear among them.

Rihanna was praised for what Vogue described as her fearless ability to blend archival pieces with high fashion and streetwear. Her top look of the year, per the publication, was her Met Gala appearance, where she revealed her third pregnancy in a Marc Jacobs skirt suit and matching hat. Chappell Roan was also highlighted for her theatrical, custom-made costumes. Meanwhile, Laufey earned recognition for her whimsical and romantic approach to both stage and everyday dressing.

Elsewhere on the list, Doechii was celebrated for her custom Thom Browne looks and a standout Met Gala ensemble. Tyla also made the cut for her daring use of vintage and sculptural fashion pieces.

As for Swift, her absence stands out largely because 2025 has been another defining year for her fashion narrative. As style observers have noted, Swift treats fashion as an extension of storytelling. From her sequined Eras Tour bodysuits to carefully chosen red carpet statements, her wardrobe choices often carry layered meaning. In her 2016 Vogue cover story, Swift said that one of her favorite aspects of fashion is “going through different phases.”

While Vogue has not commented publicly on why Swift was not included, best-dressed lists are inherently subjective. As such, they reflect editorial taste rather than definitive rankings. And while some fans may see the omission as a snub, others argue that Swift’s style legacy is already firmly established, list or no list.
