Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian spoke about their Christmas party during the December 17 episode of the latter’s podcast. They said the party began as a small family tradition in the 1970s and grew as the family and their friends got bigger. However, most importantly, the bill has also become larger. The reality TV stars later confirmed how they manage the finances for this party.
Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian on who pays for the annual Christmas bash
Kris Jenner called the Kardashian Christmas party “a really big undertaking” and said it needs “energy, time, resources, money, creativity, just all of it.” On her Khloé in Wonderland podcast, Khloé Kardashian explained how the family plans the event with a series of meetings and rules about decision-making.
She expressed, “Not everyone shows up, and that’s fine, but if you don’t show up, you don’t get a say so. Then you can’t come to the third meeting and be like, oh I don’t like that. No, we have already had two meetings before; we’ve decided on X, Y, and Z.”
While talking about money, Kardashian made it clear, “We all equally split the cost of the party.” Jenner added that the event has grown from a family photoshoot tradition into a large holiday show with DJs and sometimes performances, noting that they “always dance at the end of the party” and often book live singers.
Kardashian also said she prefers not to host and was relieved this year when the family put the event at her sister Kendall’s home instead of hers. The family has rotated hosts over the years as the guest list grew to “a couple hundred, two to 300 people.”
This means that the whole family chimes in with the costs of hosting this grand Kardashian Christmas party. The sisters also have a tradition of competing over the best wrapping paper for presents, and it will be interesting to see what they will do this year.
