Kai Cenat Gets Candid About His Mental Health Struggles Amid Hiatus

Kai Cenat broke the silence on his mental health in a short, candid video posted on December 16. The top streamer explained why he stepped back from Twitch. He also teased new projects he has been quietly working on.

Kai Cenat talks about his mental health in a new clip

In the clip that he posted on X, Kai Cenat said he has been grappling with doubt and fear as he thinks about moving past marathon streams and building bigger creative projects. “Honestly, for the past few months, I’ve been struggling with mental health out of self-doubt and fright of pursuing goals that I really want to achieve,” he said.

He added that the silence has come from being “in my head” while he figures out what’s next. The streamer said, “I’ve [come] to realize that I’m a true creator and I’m very passionate about creating. I have other goals and things I want to achieve and do more of. I would love to show you guys what I’ve been working on for the past few months.”

Cenat told fans he is taking care of himself and that his mental health has been improving. “Sometimes it’s important to take care of your mental health. Honestly, it’s been getting better. It has. But out of frustration and fear, I’ve just been in my head for some reason,” he said.

He also asked followers to stay connected to a secondary Instagram account where he plans to share updates about his life and work. In a written story on that account, he said, “Everyone who is in pursuit of dreams and goals, let’s come together and really have tunnel vision for the future … I’m here with you.”

Cenat’s last major on-stream event was Mafiathon 3, a month-long marathon that ended on October 1, 2025. He said at the time that it would be his last marathon. The streamer noted that he wanted to shift toward other kinds of creative work and a longer-lasting legacy. Since then, he has mostly stepped away from regular streaming and kept a low public profile.
