Who is the winner of Survivor 49?
Survivor crowned Savannah Louie as the winner of Season 49 during the December 17 finale. She walked away with the $1 million prize and the title of sole survivor. The season delivered plenty of drama, including a frightening moment when Jake Latimer left the game after a venomous snake bite.
Before the finale approached, Kristina Mills and Rizo Velovic were voted out and joined the jury. That left Savannah Louie, Sophi Belerdi and Sage Ahrens-Nichols to face the jury at the final tribal council. The jury asked tough questions about strategy, social play and big moves.
One of the most memorable moments came when Kristina challenged Savannah to name a family member or partner of each jury member a task Savannah struggled to complete. After hearing from all three finalists, the jury chose Savannah Louie as the winner.
Following her win, she told host Jeff Probst, “It feels incredible. It’s this larger than life feeling. I usually have the right words, I usually have some crap to say, but in this moment, I don’t even know what to say. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. It’s just a crazy feeling.”
Leading into the finale, Steven Ramm was sent to the jury despite playing his “Block A Vote” advantage, after Sage ultimately sided with Savannah, Rizo and Sophi. Before that, Sophie Segreti joined the jury, a move Sage described as “revenge” for Sophie eliminating her ally, Jawan Pitts.
The finale also made history with the first all-female final three since 2014. With Survivor 49 now complete, excitement is already building for the milestone 50th season, which will feature Mike White, Dee Valladares, Kyle Fraser and Cirie Fields.
