She brought up the overlap between Titanic and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights decades ago and then asked DiCaprio if he had rewatched James Cameron’s epic romance.
“No. I haven’t seen it in forever,” DiCaprio replied. When Lawrence pressed, saying how good the film is, DiCaprio quipped, “I don’t really watch, maybe I do, some movies I’ve watched. Do you watch your old…movies? Lawrence immediately encouraged him, saying, “No. I’ve never made something like Titanic, if I did I would watch it.” “Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, ‘I wonder if I’m good at acting?’ I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is,” she added.
DiCaprio’s confession appears to be a common tendency among actors to avoid rewatching their own completed work.
