Leonardo DiCaprio Shocks Fans With Titanic Confession

Leonardo DiCaprio has surprised fans with a revelation about one of the most iconic films of his career, aka Titanic, during a wide-ranging conversation with Jennifer Lawrence.

Leonardo DiCaprio makes confession about Titanic

While reflecting on their acclaimed careers and upcoming projects on Variety’s Actors on Actors segment, Jennifer Lawrence asked Leonardo DiCaprio about directors he still hopes to work with. She brought up the overlap between Titanic and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights decades ago and then asked DiCaprio if he had rewatched James Cameron’s epic romance.

“No. I haven’t seen it in forever,” DiCaprio replied. When Lawrence pressed, saying how good the film is, DiCaprio quipped, “I don’t really watch, maybe I do, some movies I’ve watched. Do you watch your old…movies? Lawrence immediately encouraged him, saying, “No. I’ve never made something like Titanic, if I did I would watch it.” “Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, ‘I wonder if I’m good at acting?’ I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is,” she added.

DiCaprio’s confession appears to be a common tendency among actors to avoid rewatching their own completed work.

The exchange was part of a broader dialogue that touched on their early starts as child actors and their meticulous preparation for complex roles. DiCaprio spoke about closely collaborating with Paul Thomas Anderson on One Battle After Another, describing the character of Bob as a former revolutionary struggling to adapt to the modern world. He shared that the role required restraint and a willingness to subvert expectations, even in moments that might traditionally call for heroism.

Lawrence, meanwhile, detailed the emotional intensity of playing a mother experiencing postpartum depression in Die My Love. She praised Lynne Ramsay’s poetic, visual storytelling and talked about how isolation and shifting family dynamics shaped her character’s inner turmoil.
