Rumors online claim that 50 Cent is working on a LeBron James documentary for Netflix. After a post from a parody account went viral on social media, users seemed to believe the claims to be true. Moments like these remind us of how powerful social media can be in spreading misinformation, while also highlighting the need for online vigilance in the digital age.
Is 50 Cent making LeBron James documentary?
An account on X (formerly Twitter) that goes by the name Hoops Crave, reportedly posted pictures of 50 Cent and LeBron James, with the caption, “50 Cent is set to produce a Netflix documentary centered around LeBron James: ‘This one ain’t about basketball.'” It was reposted by many, resulting in the emergence of a rumor that a LeBron James Netflix documentary from 50 Cent is in the works. However, this is not true, as Hoops Crave is only a “parody account.”
Showcasing a similar logo to Pop Crave, the Hoops Crave X account mentions in their bio, “Craving Hoops Culture | parody account not affiliated with @PopCrave.” However, other X users reposted Hoops Crave’s latest parody post, leading some to believe it was true.
Many fans replied to the original post with hilarious comments. One user wrote, “Is 50 just always two steps ahead of everyone else? First, Formula 50 Vitamin Water, now this?” while another replied, “I was waiting for this one. Worlds are about to be turned upside down. 50 need to stop man.” “Someone protect 50. He’s whistleblowing too much for his own good,” another user wrote on the post on X.
This parody post comes after the success of the recent Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, on which 50 Cent serves as an executive producer. The series focuses on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ groundbreaking success as well as the dark side of the empire he built. The 4-episode documentary came out on Netflix earlier this month, on December 2, 2025.
