Sources have reportedly claimed that Nicole Kidman now feels “free” to choose more daring roles following her split from Keith Urban.
Nicole Kidman will freely choose roles after Keith Urban divorce, sources suggest
Speaking with Radar Online, an insider suggested that Nicole Kidman had been struggling with Keith Urban’s insecurity over the sexual aspects of some of her roles.
“Keith made it clear he wasn’t comfortable with the sexual side of her projects, even if he never said outright she should stop working,” a source claimed. “He worried about how it looked, and he hated the idea of other men touching her, even if it was acting. Nicole kept trying to reassure him, but it got exhausting.”
According to Kidman’s friends, the actress is relieved that she’s free to choose whatever role she finds interesting. “Her close friends all saw the toll it took on her, and they’re quietly rejoicing she’s finally free of him,” the source stated.
“They want to see her fully step into her power. The fact that she’s still playing complex, sensual women in their 50s is something to be celebrated, and she needs a partner who recognizes that and is man enough to handle it,” the source added.
The insider went on to claim that Kidman is embracing her creative independance after her divorce. The actress is reportedly no longer having any qualms about stepping into more sexual roles. “This approach is working for her, and she’s not going to let anybody rain on her parade or stop her from using her voice and her body in unexpected ways,” the source stated.
In conclusion, the insider said, “Knowing Nicole, the projects she picks going forward are going to push the boundaries even more, and without Keith holding her back, she can be as bold as she wants to be.”
Meanwhile, Kidman has multiple exciting projects lined up for the future. She is reprising her role as Gillian Owens in the upcoming sequel to Practical Magic. She is also reportedly expected to return in the highly anticipated third season of Big Little Lies.
