Teyana Taylor has called Oscar Isaac “f***ing selfish,” but for a reason. On Variety’s Actors on Actors, Isaac and Taylor discussed Frankenstein and One Battle After Another, as well as their respective roles. Isaac portrayed Baron Victor Frankenstein, a genius but notorious surgeon who creates the monstrous creature played by Jacob Elordi.

Teyana Taylor labeled Oscar Isaac as “f***ing selfish” on Variety’s Actors on Actors. In Frankenstein, he creates the monstrous creature (played by Elordi) and beats up and chains his creation. A curious Taylor quizzed him about playing the evil genius surgeon Baron Victor Frankenstein and working with Elordi.
Taylor asked inquisitively, “What was one of the most difficult scenes on a personal level, through any of the movies that you’ve done?” Isaac replied that it was the last scene between the creature and him in Frankenstein. Taylor prodded further and asked if he felt “bad” beating him.
To which Isaac simply replied, “No,” causing Taylor to exclaim dramatically. Isaac made a feeble attempt to defend himself and replied, “I wasn’t supposed to feel bad.” The One Battle After Another star remarked, “Oh my God, Victor! You are selfish!”
Isaac explained, “It’s like doing it to yourself. Like when you yell at yourself, do you feel bad that you are yelling at yourself?” To which Taylor replied, “I don’t think that’s fair.” She continued, “But I’m saying that’s how I was thinking about it. It’s like, ‘You piece of s**t. Why did you f***ing do that?’”
A now pacified Taylor replied, “You did to him what your father did to you. Everybody’s a bully till the bully walks in type of situation.” Taylor remarked that she is talking to Isaac as if he were actually Dr. Victor Frankenstein in real life. She asked him, “Why would you show him what the sun is to take it away and lock him in the basement in darkness? What made you treat him like a monster?”
Isaac revealed, “This is a very extreme version of ‘How can an adult treat a child that way?’” Taylor added that the creature is a baby, even if it is a seven-foot giant.
