Arlene Silver reveals details about Dick Van Dyke’s 100th birthday celebration
Arlene Silver, the wife of Dick Van Dyke, recently revealed how they celebrated the legendary actor’s 100th birthday. There have been talks about this landmark birthday before, too.
The Mary Poppins star turned a century old on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
To mark this occasion, Silver had the perfect things planned for him. “It went so perfect — just everything,” Silver, who led a flash mob dancing to a medley of her husband’s songs, and during a party at their Malibu, California home, said to PEOPLE. The party was produced by Chris Isaacson Presents. The couple was further joined by their friends and family members.
“And he was so happy. His face, I love to make him have that face,” she continued, “This felt so perfect.” She added that she felt “relieved, grateful and so happy” with how things went down at this very important occasion.
Dik Van Dyke also spoke to PEOPLE just days before this. He said that the thing that actually surprised him the most about this birthday was the fact that he “made it.”
“I feel really good for 100,” Van Dyke further added, “Sometimes I have more energy than others — but I never wake up in a bad mood.”
Silver had already revealed that they were planning to keep the celebrations of Dick Van Dyke’s birthday low-key. She had also revealed that Van Dyke wanted to stay with her and watch Jeopardy! reruns all day earlier. Of course, things were a little more eventful than that for the couple.
Van Dyke released a book, 100 Rules for Living to 100, to celebrate his birthday. Dick Van Dyke: A 100th Celebration is also being screened in honor of the actor.
