The meme featured SpongeBob and Mr Krabs driving down to the former character’s house, while the latter does not stop, continuing to zoom past the house and drive into an underwater forest. The edited video portrays SpongeBob as the Chiefs, Mr Krabs as the NFL, SpongeBob’s house as the playoffs, and the forest as Cancun. While the Chiefs’ chances of making it to the playoffs were already slim, this loss confirmed their elimination from the playoff race.
Patrick Mahomes started the game with a knee injury and left the game towards the end, getting replaced by Gardner Minshew.
