After their win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, December 14, the LA Chargers took to social media to mock the end of the Chiefs’ playoff run. The LA Chargers account posted a video meme, poking fun at Kansas City’s elimination and celebrating their own triumph.

Chargers post meme trolling Chiefs’ playoff exit

The LA Chargers played an important match against the Kansas City Chiefs, emerging victorious after defeating the home team 16-13. This resulted in the end of the Chiefs’ playoffs run as they currently stand at 6-8 with a 3-match losing streak. Meanwhile, the LA Chargers took advantage of the opportunity to poke fun at the 4-time Super Bowl champions. The Chargers’ X account posted a video meme, mocking the end of the Chiefs’ playoff run.

The meme featured SpongeBob and Mr Krabs driving down to the former character’s house, while the latter does not stop, continuing to zoom past the house and drive into an underwater forest. The edited video portrays SpongeBob as the Chiefs, Mr Krabs as the NFL, SpongeBob’s house as the playoffs, and the forest as Cancun. While the Chiefs’ chances of making it to the playoffs were already slim, this loss confirmed their elimination from the playoff race.

Patrick Mahomes started the game with a knee injury and left the game towards the end, getting replaced by Gardner Minshew. Additionally, an LA Chargers interception of Mahomes gave them an early advantage in the fourth quarter of the game. Meanwhile, the Chargers currently stand at 10-4, with a 3-match win streak. They are currently second in the AFC West division, just below the Denver Broncos, standing at 12-2.
