On December 13, 2022, Boss was found dead with a gunshot wound in a motel room in Encino, California. Reportedly, officials found a note on the scene, which led them to believe that Boss had taken his own life (via TMZ). As per the outlet, his note hinted at past troubles, without shedding details on any specific incident. Later, a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed that Boss had indeed died by suicide.

Boss was most popularly known for serving as a DJ and a host on The Ellen DeGeneres Show starting in 2014. Before that, he also appeared on the reality dance competition, So You Think You Can Dance. While he debuted in Season 3, he never made it to the top 20. However, he returned a year later and finished in second place during Season 4 in 2008.
