John Cena’s Final WWE Words Makes Fans Emotional

With his last match on December 13, John Cena has officially retired from WWE, leaving fans heartbroken. With over two decades of an incredible wrestling career, the SmackDown! star tapped out in an emotional send-off.

John Cena said this after last WWE match

More than a year after John Cena announced his retirement tour, the day finally arrived on December 13, when the DC star fought his last WWE match. 

During Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena faced Gunther, who earned the opportunity by winning The Last Time is Now Tournament, defeating LA Knight in the finals. Following an intense match, Cena tapped out when Gunther had him in a headlock, ending his multi-decade career.

Post-match, Cena received a heartfelt standing ovation and tributes from his peers and fans in the arena. As he walked out of the ring, fans cheered and chanted his name. Before he made it into the backstage, he said, “It’s been a pleasure serving you all these years, thank you.”

John Cena’s last WWE match clearly had many fans in tears, knowing that they’ll never see one of their favorite WWE stars wrestle again. And those who couldn’t witness it live took to social media to offer tributes and emotional messages.

One fan wrote, “End of an era. I wish he didn’t tap out. But let’s be honest anyway, he would have lost people wouldn’t have been happy lol. Gonna miss him.”

Meanwhile, another user shared Cena’s popular song, “You Can’t See Me,” inspired by the wrestler’s iconic catchphrase. He captioned the post, saying, “An entire generation grew up vibing to this theme. Thank you, John Cena.”

A third user wrote, “John Cena smiling before tapping out. After all these years, he knew his time is up. He told us that at some point in our lives, we have to give up. This is what it’s all about, it’s all about life.”

While many wished that Cena hadn’t tapped out, a lot of people acknowledged and appreciated his intentions. A user wrote, “Powerful moment. A legend showing grace, acceptance, and respect for the journey. That lesson goes far beyond wrestling.”

Cena has had a long-standing and incredible career in WWE. Over the course of two decades, Cena has earned 17 world championships in WWE, the most by any wrestler in history.
