Kristen Stewart recently discussed what she’s learned since marrying screenwriter Dylan Meyer earlier this year. In a heartfelt interview, the Twilight star reflected on how tying the knot at a small Los Angeles ceremony in April has shifted her perspective.
Kristen Stewart reflects on what she learned from marriage with Dylan Meyer
Kristen Stewart, 35, told Esquire that marrying Dylan Meyer, 38, has given her a fresh outlook on family and partnership. She described how having a loved one by her side has brought stability, saying it feels wonderful to no longer feel “unmoored.” Stewart also credited her wife for helping her see the value in carefully choosing the people around her.
“It’s so nice to have a family. It’s so nice to not be an unmoored individual. Dylan came into my life, and I immediately thought it’s so important to handpick and curate the people who surround you,” she said.
Stewart also talked about Meyer’s no-nonsense nature, noting that she “does not suffer fools.” Stewart added that while she tries to be a “nice guy,” having a partner who keeps her accountable and reminds her that “your life is in your hands” has been reassuring.
Even with all the closeness, Stewart still loves her personal time and space. She said she sneaks an hour or two in the mornings before Meyer wakes up. “I am so with people all the time. I’m an Aries, so it’s rare that I’m not in a group. I like to steal time and remind myself to be alone.”
The duo also has their little shared rituals, like Stewart reading classic novels out loud to Meyer and their pets. Their go-tos include East of Eden, Wuthering Heights, and The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, which Stewart calls a “salve.” On top of these cozy moments, she’s opened up about wanting to start a family soon, hinting that she’s ready for kids in the near future.
