Mark Donovan, the President of the Kansas City Chiefs, recently sat for an interview on the show, “Up & Adams,” hosted by Kay Adams. During the interaction, he opened up about how his team has been handling the very public, high-profile relationship between their tight end, Travis Kelce, and his fiancée, Taylor Swift. He also mentioned that their team never displayed the “Cruel Summer” singer on the Chiefs’ jumbotron.
When the show’s host asked Donovan what he had learned about Swifties, Taylor Swift fans, all these years, the Chiefs President began by saying, “I’ll take that one.” Then he went on to gush about how the multiple Grammy Award-winner has been to the team. He expressed, “Taylor’s been amazing to us. It’s been nothing but good.” He continued, “She is a phenomenon. But she is just a special, kind person.”
After that, the Chiefs President explained, “And my job, early on in this, was, and I told Travis this, like look, we’re gonna treat you and your relationship with the same respect that we treat any other player or coach’s relationship.” He further emphasized, “It’s a relationship. Like, we’re not gonna monetize it.”
Donovan continued, “We’re not gonna go out there and go crazy.” Then, he revealed, “We never showed Taylor in our big boards in our stadium.” He continued, “It is respectful. We are not gonna do that.” “We are not taking advantage of this relationship” between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, added the Chiefs President.
