PewDiePie Has Moved on From Gaming, Focuses on ‘More Valuable’ Projects

Felix Kjellberg, better known online as PewDiePie, recently shared how his focus has shifted from gaming to “more valuable” projects. The Swedish YouTuber who moved to Japan with his wife and son, while still enjoying a few gaming titles here and there, now seems to have moved on to lifestyle content on his YouTube channel. In his online newsletter, he shared how he is stepping back from video games as his priorities in life change.

PewDiePie wants to ‘learn’ rather than gaming now

In the November 2025 post of his Kjellberg Mail newsletter, PewDiePie dived into the details of what life looks like for him now. As he currently engages in sharing more lifestyle content through vlogs, monthly newsletters, and other creative projects, Kjellberg explains that he wants to spend his limited time on more meaningful things, rather than just playing video games. “One of the biggest things I decided to drop was videogames. But here’s the thing: if I really wanted to, there’d be plenty of time for me to play videogames. I’ve just decided that, if time is limited, I’d rather be doing something else,” PewDiePie reportedly wrote in his newsletter.

Further, he added, “Since becoming a dad, everything does get evaluated differently. Every hour has weight now in a way it didn’t before.” He explained how it isn’t just about not having time to play games, but about his current mindset, where he wants to learn new things. “Since I’ve been so preoccupied with YouTube and gaming, I haven’t actually done much to build myself and grow. So right now, I’m in a different mindset where I want to learn,” he mentioned.

After moving to Japan in 2022 with his wife, Marzia, the couple welcomed their son, Bjorn, in the following year. The 36-year-old YouTuber now posts lifestyle vlogs on YouTube around twice a month, which usually include a paid promotion. For PewDiePie, this new chapter is all about growth, family, and meaningful creativity.
