Adin Ross Warned by Rapper Over Potential L.A. Trip: ‘Check in First’

The Game (rapper) has issued a warning to Adin Ross over a potential Los Angeles trip after his recent criticism of Kendrick Lamar. Previously, Ross took multiple potshots at Lamar over his long-standing beef with Canadian rapper Drake. He mocked Lamar’s music and even dubbed him as overrated. This hasn’t gone down well with the 38-year-old rapper’s devoted fanbase.

The Game has made it clear that Adin Ross has to “check in first” before coming to Los Angeles. In a clip circulating on X, The Game speaks to N3on about Ross. N3on reveals, “Speaking of Adin, he’s coming to LA in like two weeks. He’s doing like a whole LA run.” N3on asked the “My Life” rapper if he was “cool with Adin.” N3on explained that Ross wanted to film new content in LA.

The Game replied carefully, “Adin’s got to check in first. It seems like he’s coming out here and he’s thinking he gon’ do what he want to do. But this is L.A.” Although the 46-year-old rapper did not mention Lamar’s name, fans immediately guessed the true meaning behind his statement.

Interestingly, The Game’s “check in” resonates with an unspoken cultural code often mentioned in LA hip-hop subcultures. When outsiders, in this case Adin Ross, take a potshot at a local legend, in this case Kendrick Lamar, they are asked to toe the line by gatekeepers like The Game. Lamar and The Game were born in Compton, in the Gateway Cities region of southern Los Angeles County, California (via Complex).

Previously, Ross did not hesitate when he picked Drake’s side over Lamar during the duo’s explosive beef last year.

In one of his Kick streams, Ross sided with his friend Drake and shot back at Lamar. He revealed, “Drake’s killing him. Kendrick’s catalog is horrible. Y’all know I’m not cappin’. Nobody listened to Mr. Morale, GNX. Drake saved his miraculous career. Kendrick is an a**. He does nothing for any other rappers. He doesn’t do verses, he does nothing for rap.”

Furthermore, Ross said, “The guy’s been switched up on. F***ed over by people that he’s loved and cared about. And that’s my actual brother, and I love Drake. And I’ll always stand by that.”

As of writing, neither Ross nor Drake nor Lamar has commented on the matter.
