Jason Kelce Snubs Tom Brady, Prefers To Watch This QB Play Instead

Jason Kelce isn’t known to hold back his opinions, and his latest QB hot take proves it. On a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, the former Philadelphia Eagles center didn’t hesitate to declare a surprising favorite.

Sure, Tom Brady is the GOAT in most fans’ eyes, but Kelce admitted he’d rather tune in every week to watch Giants QB Jameis Winston do his thing.

Jason Kelce says the New York Giants’ Jameis Winston is the ‘greatest player’

On the podcast, Jason Kelce couldn’t stop talking about Winston’s on-field energy and unpredictability.

Jason Kelce said that he genuinely loves watching him light up the field. He also admitted he’s a little bummed that Jaxson Dart’s starting this week. Sure, he respects Dart’s skills, but for Kelce, whoever’s playing doesn’t matter, and he just wants Jameis in the spotlight

“I love Jameis Winston. Goddamn, that’s f*ckin’—I’m so kinda upset that Jaxson Dart’s gonna start this week, that we don’t get to see another version of this. I like watching Jaxson Dart play too, but … I don’t care what QB is playing in the NFL, I want to see Jameis Winston,” Jason said. (via Sports Rush)

When asked if he’d rather watch Winston or Brady, Kelce still chose Jameis. I wanna see Jameis.’ That’s the greatest player that played the game. I don’t care about that one bit. (Laughs) … God, that was awesome,” Jason responded.

Kelce’s love for Winston is rooted in the latter’s NFL career. Drafted No. 1 by the Buccaneers in 2015, Winston had a rollercoaster run, including a 5,000-yard, 30-TD, 30-INT season in 2019.

Then Brady came in 2020 and won a Super Bowl in his first year, leaving Winston without that championship shine. Still, Winston left his mark with jaw-dropping trick plays and touchdown celebrations.

Jason Kelce also referenced a recent game where, in week 12 against the Lions, Winston threw for 366 yards and even caught a touchdown pass himself.

His unpredictable style and over-the-top celebrations had Kelce comparing it to a Broadway performance.

“This looks like it’s like a Broadway play! This looks like a scene out of ‘Baseketball’. Like, everybody’s in on it! Like, ‘Ayyy!’ Like, look at the lineman! What the f*ck did these guys practice this?”
