Spider-Man & The Punisher To Battle [Spoiler] in Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to build hype, and now a new report hints at one of the film’s most thrilling sequences yet.

According to fresh scoops, Spider-Man and Punisher will join forces to take on mind-controlled Department of Damage Control (DODC) agents.

The Punisher and Spider-Man to fight mind-controlled DODC agents

Marvel Studios is keeping major plot points under wraps, but insider reports suggest that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man won’t be fighting solo this time. Daniel Richtman revealed that a key scene has already been filmed featuring Spidey and Frank Castle battling DODC agents who have been mind-controlled. These agents reportedly attempt to free The Scorpion from prison, raising questions about who’s pulling their strings.

The appearance of The Scorpion, alongside characters like The Hulk, Tombstone, and a mysterious character played by Sadie Sink, signals a dense, street-level story. While rumors point to a mysterious female villain, fans continue to speculate that Mister Negative may be involved, especially given the film’s title connection to the comics.

Moreover, the mind-controlled DODC sequence ties directly into a larger set of reports about the film’s action-heavy arc. MTTSH recently claimed the movie features “insane” fight scenes involving Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk, hinting at clashes that escalate before the heroes inevitably work together. The report added that Jon Bernthal “only filmed in person for a very short while,” with his stunt double filling in for most of the action beats.

Kevin Feige also addressed fan expectations about Castle’s return, explaining, “When Punisher is in the Spider-Man movie, it’ll be a different tonality.” He further clarified that Brand New Day focuses on a street-level story, not a multiverse-driven plot. “I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that… we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man… dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with… street-level crime,” he said. Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
