Prince William and Princess Kate‘s son, Prince George, is reportedly heading towards his new school. The 12-year-old was recently spotted with his mother for an annual tradition for Remembrance Day. Now, the royal child is looking forward to new beginnings in her life with secondary school. As per an expert, the Prince and Princess of Wales are keeping the school choice a secret due to an important reason.
Prince George’s school choice kept under wraps to ‘minimise scrutiny,’ per expert
Prince William and Princess Kate are seemingly keeping Prince Andrew’s new school chouve a secret due to scrutiny. The Managing Editor of The Good Schools Guide, Melanie Sanderson, opened up on the matter with Hello! Magazine. She said, “If the Wales family runs true to form, they will announce Prince George’s secondary school at the eleventh hour, possibly as late as September 2026.” “They understand that the school itself, as well as George’s new peer group, will fall under intense scrutiny.”
Sanderson said the scrutiny will happen the moment the school choice is announced. So, the Wales royals “will probably want to minimise this.” The expert further added that it will allow “the young royal to transition to his new school with as little fanfare as possible.” Prince George is expected to change schools in September 2026. William and Milddleton are apparently deciding between two schools. These are the all-boys school Eton College in Windsor and the co-educational Marlborough College in Berkshire.
Eton College is the school where Prince Harry and William went. On the other hand, the co-ed college in Berkshire is William’s wife’s school. Sanderson shared she thinks “Eton is the most likely choice for Prince George.” “In our most recent review, we describe it as ‘traditional, radical, expectation-busting and packed with confident boys with nary a hint of entitlement’. She concluded, “To me, this encompasses all the values we are told are important to this generation of royals. As of now, Prince George is attending Lambrook School in Berkshire with his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The announcement of this school choice was also made late by Wales. They shared the news two weeks before the beginning of the academic term in 2022.
