Sarah Jessica Parker to be honored with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award
In an official statement, Helen Hoehne, president, Golden Globes, praised Sarah Jessica Parker’s work on television, saying,”Sarah Jessica Parker’s career embodies the very spirit of the Carol Burnett Award.”
Hoehne added, “Her trailblazing impact on television and her dedication to storytelling across stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary contributions to entertainment” (via Golden Globe’s news release).
Parker is receiving the Carol Burnett Award, as fans know her best for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. This role has earned her multiple Golden Globes and helped define a generation of TV comedy drama.
Throughout her entire career, she has earned six Golden Globes and won two Emmy Awards. She has also earned several Screen Actors Guild honors. These achievements highlight both her acting and production work in the industry. The Golden Globes noted her influence “in front of and behind the camera.” This points to her role as an executive producer as part of the reason the committee chose her.
The new “Golden Eve” primetime special will present the 2026 Carol Burnett Award. This is a marquee event the Globes are staging on January 8, 2026, as part of Golden Week. Viewers can watch it live on CBS and later stream it online via Paramount+.
