McDonald’s is leaning into holiday mischief this year with a playful new collaboration with The Grinch Meal. It will be released on December 2, 2025, at participating US restaurants for a limited time. The promotion puts a green tangy spin on the chain’s classic fries and bundles the meal with a few seasonal extras.
McDonald’s and The Grinch collaborate for a special holiday meal
At the center of the McDonald’s Grinch meal is a new fry flavoring. It is Dill Pickle “Grinch Salt” served with McShaker Fries so customers can toss their fries with a zesty dill-pickle blend. The meal can be ordered with either a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets. It comes along with a medium drink.
The company claims that the Grinch-themed seasoning and packaging are meant to channel the character’s holiday mischief. The promotion also includes a fun collectible: McDonald’s Grinch-themed socks. It will be given in one of four colors, tucked into each meal while supplies last.
McDonald’s decided to lean into the Grinch’s voice in the official materials. In a note for the character, the Grinch writes, “THiS iS MY MEAL AND i DiDN’T PARTNER WiTH McDONALD’S OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART,” and adds in his cheeky style, “i SAW AN OPPORTUNiTY TO BRiNG MiSCHiEF TO YOUR BELOVED ‘RESTAURANT’ WiTH MY DELiCiOUS CHAOS FOR THE HOLiDAYS AND i TOOK iT. SO GO AHEAD, GRAB MY MEAL STARTING DEC. 2 – YOU’RE WELCOME FOR MAKiNG YOUR HOLiDAYS iNFiNiTELY MORE iNTERESTiNG.” (via McDonald’s press release)
This, however, is not a complete menu swap in the United States. It will be a fun addition to the existing items. Alyssa Buetikofer, the chief marketing and customer experience officer in the USA, said, “The Grinch gets it — the holidays are chaotic, and he’s thrilled to give our fandom permission to embrace their inner Grinch with his festive mischievous meal and spirited socks.”
