YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s decision to take on former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has many backing the Olympic gold medalist in the match-up, including UFC CEO and President Dana White. The 56-year-old businessman opened up about the highly anticipated bout in a recent interview, making his stance about who is more likely to come out on top in the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight clear.
Dana White gives his opinion on Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua’s fight
During a November 15 press conference, conducted after the UFC 322 event, the Power Slap owner remarked that Jake Paul’s plan to battle Anthony Joshua wasn’t a smart choice on the former social media celebrity’s part.
“That’s a f—–g bad idea,” Dana White declared before adding, “That’s a bad idea. But let me tell you what: A lot of people will watch that one.” (via Sports Illustrated)
Despite his apparent reservations regarding Paul’s boxing capabilities, White is looking forward to witnessing the event live, come December. When asked if he is planning to tune into the fight, the UFC President noted, “Sure. You know what everybody’s tuning in for on that one. I think everybody’s gonna get what they’ve finally been waiting for.”
Jake Paul was initially scheduled to fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis later this month. However, the match was eventually canceled after the latter got embroiled in a domestic violence lawsuit. Regardless, Paul’s team continued to push for the event and scouted multiple candidates to face the 28-year-old professional. They ultimately settled on Anthony Joshua, who agreed to participate in the bout despite the short notice.
Since then, multiple boxing experts have come out to share their opinion on the fight, with most vouching for Joshua, a former British heavyweight champion.
Meanwhile, the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua boxing match is currently on track to take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Netflix has acquired the rights to stream the fight live on Friday, December 19, 2025.
