Carolyn Hennesy recently addressed rumors that she had undergone amputation surgery and that her character, Diane, would be leaving General Hospital. The clarification comes after speculation about the extent of her injuries and her potential exit reached heights of ridiculousness.
The actress finally decided that she’s had enough of those rumors and turned to social media to put the absurdities to rest. In an Instagram statement, Hennesy debunked the baseless rumors, reassuring fans that she will continue as Diane Miller on the show. The caption goes as follows: “FAKE NEWS ALERT”
It continues, “Kats n’ Kittens…I’m still very much bipedal! That was fake news! But I did love certain aspects of it… I think they captured the character of Diane very clearly and very lovingly. And as for me leaving the show: they’re gonna have to cart me out feet first from that sound stage. Diane is a permanent resident of Port Charles! Much love to all for the tremendous showing of support.”
Relieved by the clarification, fans flocked to her Instagram to send well-wishes and words of support during her recovery. Co-star Jon Lindstrom also chimed in, leaving a humorous comment that read, “Aw, you’ve arrived! Welcome to the big leagues, sister. I was recently in a fistfight on set, and then, DEAD. FYI, rumors of our mishaps and/or demise have been greatly exaggerated.”
“I was about to say…not Carolyn one leg wouldn’t stop her anyways!! Glad you’re not leaving!” another fan commented. “She can still come back to work with a prosthetic leg. No worries. I believe she will still look sexy”, yet another fan wrote.
