Jen Affleck reflects on her relationship with Whitney Leavitt
In a recent interview, Jen Affleck was asked about her and Whitney Leavitt’s dynamic following their participation in Dancing with the Stars.
The former offered a vague response to Parade, touching on their respective journeys and implying that some tension had formed. Notably, Leavitt had not yet been eliminated from DWTS at the time of this interview.
Affleck said that her journey on DWTS proved demanding “mentally, physically and emotionally.” She added, “It really takes a toll on you in every aspect. And there are some things that resurfaced during Dancing with the Stars.”
“But to be honest, I think it’s just time that we focus on the positives,” she continued. “Especially because she’s still out there and she’s still on that journey, and that journey is really, really hard mentally and physically.”
Affleck promised that future seasons of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives would unpack the tension that formed on DWTS. “But right now, I just want to focus on the positives and just cheer for her,” she further stated.
Although Affleck claimed she would cheer for Leavitt, she did not pick the latter’s name when asked who would win DWTS. She instead said that either Robert Irwin or Alix Earle would take home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Affleck’s response comes a week after her interview with E! News, where she said she and Leavitt had no “relationship.” However, the former didn’t divulge what really happened between them in the interview. She simply said they have “taken a step back” after “some things happened.”
Affleck said that being on DWTS was both her and Leavitt’s dream. She also revealed that they mutually wanted a positive experience and decided to set aside their drama for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. “Unfortunately, there [were] moments where it was hard [for it to not] bleed into Dancing With the Stars,” she continued.
Despite their tension, Affleck said she was happy for Leavitt. The former also hoped that the latter would progress greatly in the show, even if they weren’t on “good terms.”
