Liev Schreiber, of X-Men and Ray Donovan fame, was reportedly hospitalized in New York City. Following a severe headache, Schreiber followed his doctor’s instructions and underwent overnight tests at the facility.
Let’s take a closer look at the situation and what exactly happened.
Liev Schreiber taken to Hospital after suffering massive headache
Liev Schreiber was taken to a New York City hospital on Sunday night after having a severe headache, as per reports from TMZ. Following this health scare, Schreiber’s doctor advised him to get a few tests done at the hospital, for which he stayed back at the facility overnight. A further update from the outlet stated that as of Monday afternoon, the doctors cleared him to return to work.
While the nature of the health scare isn’t clear, Schreiber is reportedly able to walk and speak without any issues. However, this isn’t the first time the “Ray Donovan” actor had a mysterious health issue. During his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2024, Schreiber revealed that he was diagnosed with a rare condition called transient global amnesia. This happened during while he was starring in Broadway’s Doubt: A Parable.
He told Meyers on the show, “The worst nightmare that an actor could possibly ever experience. I was in my dressing room and I had a terrible headache. I thought it was maybe a fast-food headache, but it felt a little stronger than that.” Further, he mentioned thinking to himself, “This is not normal. I don’t feel okay.” He explained that he finally knew something was really wrong when he couldn’t recognize his co-star Amy Ryan, and even went on to later forget his lines.
However, as per the NCBI website, Transient Global Amnesia is a temporary condition and typically lasts up to 24 hours. Referring to this, the actor added, “I never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater.”
