Cristiano Ronaldo is being called out for his behavior in a recent match. In a World Cup qualifier game between Ireland and Portugal held at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ronaldo received a red card. While he only received a yellow card at first, there was a loud cheer from Irish fans when the referee overturned the decision to a red card after a VAR check.

After conceding 2 goals in the first half, things got tougher for Portugal in the second as their center forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, received a red card in the 61st minute. Trying to come back with their 10-man squad seemed impossible for the Portuguese side, resulting in a 2-0 loss against the home team.

Meanwhile, just after committing the foul on Ireland’s Dara O’Shea, Ronaldo smiled and made a “cry baby” gesture, implying that the player he fouled only pretended that the injury was serious to waste time. During the clash, Ronaldo hit his elbow into the defender’s back and received a yellow card from the referee. However, moments later, after a VAR check. This led the referee to overturn his yellow card to a red. This resulted in fans making the gesture back at him, booing him, as seen in a clip on X. One user, replying to the post, wrote, “Got humbled so fast.” Another user replied, “Now that’s karma in its purest form night and day!”

While some users defended their GOAT, arguing he didn’t deserve a red card, others said karma had done its job. Additionally, due to this incident, Portugal will have to play their final World Cup Qualifier match against Armenia without Ronaldo. The results of the final matches of their group will determine whether they make it to the next round.
