Jennifer Lawrence took Vanity Fair’s lie detector test recently while promoting her latest movie, Die My Love, with co-star Robert Pattinson, who served as her interviewer. When he asked about merkins, Lawrence answered the question honestly, but Pattinson himself appeared confused, trying to understand what it is. To make him recall, Lawrence referred to their intimate scene in the movie. Remembering it, he said that he just took a glance and never looked back.
Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence talk about merkin
In Vanity Fair‘s lie detector test, Lawrence was seated in the hot seat, whereas Pattinson dictated questions during the promotion of their film, Die My Love. One of the questions was around merkins, artificial hairpieces designed for the pubic area. Pattinson asked Lawrence whether she had an idea of what a merkin is. She replied, “I do, I do. I’ve worn quite a few.”
In disbelief, Pattinson mentioned that he has “never seen [Lawrence] wearing a merkin.” Alluding to an intimate scene between them in Die My Love, Lawrence revealed to him that he had seen her sporting it. The Twilight actor still seemed confused, and Lawrence clarified, “Rob, that was not my real… did you not know that that was a merkin?” He further comedically says, “I’ve had nightmares about it ever since… I didn’t know what it was. I caught a glimpse of it, and I turned away and ran.”
Pattinson further asked Lawrence whether she looks forward to purchasing Kim Kardashian’s brand, SKIMS’ new merkins. Lawrence quipped, “No, I’ll get it for free.”
Die My Love is a black-comedy film that centers around a writer and young mother who gradually loses her sanity as she’s locked in her house in Montana. Worries emerge in the mind of her partner, who witnesses her strange behavior daily. Lynne Ramsay serves as the director of the film. The movie originally premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and arrived in theaters on November 7, 2025.
