Jameela Jamil has come forward to clarify her stance on an AI actress, Tilly Norwood. The character has sparked a significant debate on the internet since its appearance at the Zurich Summit in September 2025. In a recent discussion, the British actress-activist shared her views on the use of AI in entertainment, specifically in Hollywood. She highlighted the downside of having an AI-generated female character who has no say in the type of scenes she is used for.

“Shame on it being a teenage-looking girl who can’t say no to a type of sex scene or to a sexual abuse scene, who can’t advocate for herself, who can’t advocate for more money,” the 39-year-old noted. “It’s marked that it was a young woman, rather than a man that they came out with first and that she looks a particular way. I find the whole thing deeply disturbing.”
Jamil doubled down on her reservations regarding the use of AI in the entertainment industry. She highlighted that an artificially generated entity mimicking human emotions just doesn’t make any sense. “I can’t understand it in the television and film space because the whole point of acting is to emulate the human experience, and so having something that is not human trying to emulate our experience is not possible.” She added, “I find it deeply disturbing and troubling, and shame on the agencies that sign these actresses.”
While Jameela Jamil agreed that AI could work wonders for mankind in other fields, such as the medical sector, she emphasized that “when it comes to art or things that are fundamentally human, there’s no place for something that has been coded by some greedy psychopath in Silicon Valley.”
