Avengers: Doomsday To Bring Back a Lot of OG Stars Besides Chris Evans

Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers might not be the only original Marvel character in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, according to a new scoop. Although there have been rumors about the actor reprising his role in the MCU movie, his part hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel yet. Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday is slated for a release in December 2026.

Multiple OG Marvel characters still being kept hidden for Avengers: Doomsday

A renowned scooper recently shared that more original Marvel characters might appear in Avengers: Doomsday, apart from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.

In a Q&A session for The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez was asked about the possibility of Evans and Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter getting featured in the trailer. He stated that Marvel Studios is “still keeping a lot of OG characters in the dark.” Thus, the studio might “drop them in the trailer to keep the lid on any other character confirmations.”

Although rumors of Evans’ return as Steve Rogers have been flowing on the internet for a long time, Marvel has still not announced it publicly. The speculations grew much intense after the actor was photographed with a muscular physique and a clean-shaven look at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.

Additionally, speaking about Steve and Peggy’s rumored appearance in the Avengers: Doomsday teaser, Alex Perez noted, “I expect it to be something along the lines of a ‘Charles Xavier in the Multiverse of Madness’ trailer tease. Anyway, we should know around early-mid December, so not that long of a wait.”

Hayley Atwell’s appearance as Peggy Carter has also not been confirmed by the studio. While speaking to Den of Geek in 2025, the actress said that she would love to return as her Doctor Strange 2 character, Captain Carter, in the upcoming Avengers sequels.

Atwell stated, “There are so many things that she could do, there’s so much more I feel I can bring to a character because I’ve developed as time’s gone on.”
