Las Vegas hosts 35th Housekeeping Olympics

An X account named Las Vegas shared a video of the Housekeeping Olympics. The video is captioned, “My favorite event in the Housekeeping Olympics: the mop relay.” In the video, participants swiftly mop the floor in a zig-zag pattern as a live audience hoots and cheers for them.

In a second video, contestants quickly dust the white bedsheets and swiftly make the beds. Notably, the video has garnered an impressive 185.7K views on X.

Las Vegas celebrated the 35th Housekeeping Olympics on Monday, November 10. The event took place at the Michelob Ultra Arena, where ten teams participated in various housekeeping challenges. Some of the challenges included mopping the floor, making the bed, tossing the buffer, and vacuum cleaning (via Times Now).

Andy Meese, General Manager of Park MGM, revealed that the Housekeeping Olympics is their way of honoring the hospitality staff working around the clock. He said (via Fox5 Vegas), “They are the lifeline… they bring the guest experience to life every single day. So it’s a great opportunity to take a step back and recognize the employees for all the work that they do.”

Resorts World won the bed-making and spirit dancing competitions, while ARIA/Vdara won the vacuum race. Staples Business excelled at the Buffer Pad Toss and Executive Challenge. Finally, Mandalay Bay/Luxor won the highly competitive mop relay.

ARIA/Vdara eventually won the Housekeeping Olympics, with Resorts World and Staples Business finishing in second and third place, respectively.
