Jeff Goldblum made major life change after Wicked: For Good
Jeff Goldblum has revealed that his role in Wicked: For Good inspired a major lifestyle change. The actor, who reprises his role as the Wizard of Oz in Jon M. Chu’s highly anticipated sequel, shared that working on the film motivated him to adopt a vegetarian diet. According to Goldblum, discussions he had about animal cruelty during production prompted him to give up meat and poultry entirely.
During an interview on This Morning, Goldblum reflected on how the project influenced him both personally and professionally. He said, “It’s uncommon that you get to be doing this over a period of time and get more fertile and juicy and interesting and relevant roles for yourself at this period of time.”
The actor expressed his admiration for working with director Jon M. Chu, saying, “Working with Jon Chu [is] amazing. It’s changed me. You know, after doing this movie, we talked about the animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry.” Goldblum also emphasized the need to care for all living beings. “We need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too,” he said.
Goldblum first stepped into the role of the Wizard in the 2024 adaptation of Wicked, based on the hit Broadway musical. In the sequel, Wicked: For Good, he reprises the role alongside Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. The film is set to arrive in theaters on November 21.
