John Cena emerged victorious in the Intercontinental Championship match during Monday’s episode of WWE. He faced Dominik Mysterio, who put his title on the line. Both competitors delivered a tough fight, showcasing incredible moves, but the victory ultimately went to Cena. In the final moments, Mysterio performed a 619 on Cena, followed by a frog splash. However, Cena, who was lying on the ground, caught him and stood up. He then delivered an Attitude Adjustment move on Mysterio, securing his win.

There was also a moment when Mysterio interrupted Cena during his farewell speech to Boston to trash-talk. He taunted him, saying he was better than Cena in his prime.

Previously, the WWE star publicly announced that he’ll be retiring from his sports career during an appearance at Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada. He mentioned that he would close his WWE career in 2025 after the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

In a conversation on Good Morning America, Cena was asked whether he has plans to come out of retirement in the future. He said, “There is no way. There is absolutely… I don’t want to speak in absolutes, because I don’t want to close any opportunity, but I made a promise to the fans who’ve allowed me to be here for a quarter of a century. They allowed me to sit with you today. I wouldn’t want to disrespect them like that. This is an event — when people attend, it’s very exclusive.” (via Entertainment Weekly)
