Prince Harry allegedly demanded money from his grandma, the late Queen Elizabeth II. According to royal biographer Robert Jobson’s book, “The Windsor Legacy,” the Duke of Sussex asked for financial help even after leaving the royal palace. Reportedly, his calls were frequent, which started to annoy the late queen. The author mentioned that she was losing patience as Harry used to ask for money every time.
Prince Harry tested Queen’s patience by asking for money, claims expert
A new source has claimed that Prince Harry had a tough time dealing with money after his royal exit with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020. Royal author Robert Jobson’s new book, “The Windsor Legacy,” mentioned the time when the Duke of Sussex’s frequent calls for money to the late Queen Elizabeth II had left her fuming.
RadarOnline quoted excerpts from Jobson’s book, where he narrated an anecdote. Reportedly, one day, the duke called his grandmother at Windsor Castle during her teatime. As it was her relaxing time, she ignored the call. Moreover, she had suspicions that her grandson was allegedly calling for monetary help.
The next day, he called again. This time, the then-queen picked up and released a sigh after hanging up the call. “She sighed and said in front of her staff: ‘More money,’” Jobson wrote. About this scenario, a royal source told the outlet that the grandmother used to “adore” Harry, but “her patience had limits.” She found his constant calls for money “exhausting.” “It wasn’t the behavior she expected from her grandson – or from a duke who’d chosen independence,” they added.
According to the royal author, the prince and his wife, Markle, were already receiving financial help from the palace for a year. But, Harry allegedly found the new life in California difficult. Jobson also mentioned that the palace staff began to leave “polite excuses” whenever the 41-year-old prince called.
An ex-palace aide stated that the then-monarch was “disgusted by the constant drama.” “She felt Harry and Meghan had squandered an opportunity and betrayed her trust,” they concluded.
