Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s legal case over their French winery keeps taking new turns. Nearly three years into the dispute, new court documents reveal more about what has been going on behind the scenes, indicating Jolie was feeling stressed during the battle. It began as a business dispute and continues to reflect the lasting rift between two of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Angelina Jolie reportedly mentioned experiencing ‘stress’ in one of her case-related emails
A new report by USA Today revealed that Angelina Jolie’s legal case with Brad Pitt affected her mental health. The “F1” actor’s legal team has submitted hundreds of pages of Jolie’s emails as part of their ongoing fight over Château Miraval — the vineyard the former couple once shared. Pitt’s lawyers say the messages show how Jolie handled the 2021 sale of her share.
This new paperwork goes back more than a decade: along with business emails, some reveal glimpses of Jolie’s private concerns. One message from 2021 reportedly included her admitting to feeling “stress” over personal and business matters. She wrote, “I need to remove all stress,” admitting to “getting sick from worry.” Hence, Jolie suggested to “discuss better support. And not continuing relationships that you see cause me stress.”
Jolie’s team argues that many of the emails Pitt wants to publicize include privileged information. Her lawyer, Paul Murphy, said in a statement to the tabloid that the legal efforts are a “manifestation of Mr. Pitt’s years-long effort to harass and control Angelina.” Murphy added that Jolie’s communications should stay private because they involve her business manager and advisers who were working with her legal team.
Meanwhile, Pitt’s side disagrees. They suggest that not all of those exchanges are under protection because some of the people involved weren’t attorneys. Both teams are now preparing for a hearing scheduled for December 17, and the full trial is expected to begin in February 2027.
The mention of stress in Jolie’s email adds another personal glimpse into her case with Pitt — one that has already stretched on for years.
