Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lived in California for nearly six years, but reports suggest that their influence in Hollywood may be fading. After stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the United States, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sought to establish new ventures across entertainment and business.

According to Page Six, the couple has signed multiple high-profile deals, including a multi-year agreement with Netflix. However, the partnership has reportedly been scaled down. The couple’s first-look deal with Netflix is reported to be similar to the agreement held by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground. Speaking at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington this October, Meghan described the deal as “an incredible sign of the strength of our partnership.” She added that the arrangement offers “flexibility” to collaborate with Netflix while also allowing them to “shop content” to other platforms.

Meanwhile, Meghan continues to pursue her independent projects, including her lifestyle brand “As Ever.” Despite these efforts, some insiders claim that their popularity in Hollywood has waned.

Furthermore, the reports cited by Page Six say that there is “no appetite left for them in LA,” adding that the couple has “worn through any goodwill they had.” Another entertainment insider remarked that “people are sick of them,” describing the couple’s presence as having “gotten stale.”

However, sources claim that the couple is developing additional television content. Industry figures have also noted that Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos remains supportive of their work and maintains a personal connection with the pair, reportedly dining with them on multiple occasions.
