Claire Danes on working with Homeland creators again on The Beast in Me
Talking to ET Online, Claire Danes opened up about how much she treasures her long-running creative bond with the Homeland crew.“It’s such a privilege to be able to keep the collaboration and conversation going for as long as we have,” she said. “To have developed this trust and history; it’s an amazing resource, and we’ve tried to take full advantage of it.”
Netflix’s The Beast in Me throws Claire Danes back into the kind of gripping, emotional territory she’s famous for. She plays Aggie, a woman who gets pulled into a maze of secrets and lies after a shocking disappearance.
Starring opposite The Americans alum Matthew Rhys, Danes faces off with his character, Nile Jarvis, a man with dark secrets that force Aggie to question everything she thought she knew.
Danes, who also serves as a producer, described the experience as both thrilling and unpredictable. “Howard and company were writing this as we were filming it…The actors would turn to me like, ‘But what actually happens?’ and I’m like, ‘Nobody knows!’”
Danes didn’t sugarcoat it, and she admitted the story dives into “some really dark places.” The actress also talked about her co-star Matthew Rhys, calling him “wildly gifted, unnervingly charming, and just a divine human being.”
