Eva Mendes publicly denied speculation that she and Ryan Gosling relocated their family to England.
On Nov. 3, the actress clarified that she, Gosling, and their daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 9, continue to reside in Los Angeles. Mendes addressed the reports after the Daily Mail claimed on Oct. 31 that the family had moved to London. She shared a screenshot of the article on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “WRONG again @dailymail.”
The actress added that although she has enjoyed her time abroad, she“can’t wait” to return “home” to California, writing, “I can’t wait to get back home and celebrate the @dodgers World Series championship! Go Dodgers!!!” The rumors followed claims that the couple purchased a North London home and enrolled their children in school there.
Their temporary stay in London coincides with Gosling’s filming schedule for Star Wars: Starfighter. Mendes, 51, has been accompanying him during the production. The actress previously revealed she stepped away from acting, telling The Times in October 2024, “I wasn’t a great actress… I had my moments when I worked with really great people.” Mendes added that she often faced casting bias early in her career, recalling, “That’s all they would say at the beginning—’she’s too ethnic for this, too ethnic for that.’”
Mendes has expressed pride in her collaborations with Gosling, including The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) and his directorial debut Lost River. “He gets something out of me that’s never been accessible before,” she said. Speaking to Good Morning America in 2024, Mendes described that work as “a high off my career,” adding she would “love to” reunite with Gosling on another project but remains undecided about returning to acting.
