Talking about the challenges faced by Gen Z, she said, “It’s hard.” She references her siblings, noting how major life events have been disrupted by the pandemic, politics, and a challenging job market. Sennott said, “One of my sisters went to college for one year, then had to come home for COVID. My other sister is doing high school on Zoom…then there’s strikes.” She added, “The job market, all of it, it’s just hard.”

The actress emphasized that many young people are unable to reach milestones their parents achieved at the same age. She said, “We’re not able to accomplish the same things our parents were at this age. It feels like nothing you do is ever enough. There’s way too much information on our phones. [There’s] images in my mind that I will never delete…”

The show follows a group of twenty-somethings navigating life, relationships, and careers in Los Angeles. Sennett portrays Maia, a 27-year-old talent manager living with her boyfriend, played by Josh Hutcherson, and close friends. The series’ cast also includes Jordan Firstman and True Whitaker.
