Keanu Reeves has revealed the top three films he’s appeared in that he watches whenever they’re on TV. Although the actor has previously mentioned that he usually avoids watching his own films, he revealed that he’ll watch these if he happens to come across them while “scrolling.”
Keanu Reeves talks about watching his old movies
While attending The New Yorker Festival 2025, Keanu Reeves shared whether he watches his old movies.
“No, I mean, maybe while I’m scrolling or moving and thinking, ‘There… Oh yes, Point Break is on,’” the actor said. “Or, ‘Oh wow, Matrix, all right. [The Matrix] Reloaded, f—— yes,” he added (via PEOPLE)
The John Wick star clarified that he doesn’t deliberately play his movies, saying, “Anyway, not yes, no. I haven’t like, just put one on.”
Both Point Break and The Matrix franchise established Reeves as an action star, with The Matrix franchise becoming a pop culture phenomenon and is hailed as one of the best sci-fi franchises.
However, even before these iconic action films, he had starred in the popular comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure alongside Alex Winter. The two actors recently reunited for a stage production of Waiting for Godot. They made a joint appearance at The New Yorker Festival to promote their Broadway show.
Following Reeves’ answer, Winter also responded to the same question: “I don’t really, I don’t. I don’t like watching myself much, so I don’t tend to watch stuff I’ve done,” the actor explained.
“With my last film, actually, I did watch. It was just an incredible theater in Toronto, and I wanted to see the audience response, but I don’t tend to do that,” Winter continued. “And when I do, I feel like a complete, almost like a complete disconnection from the whole thing, you know? So I don’t end up with an analytical response to whatever it is… sort of dissociative.”
