The model and sports host tagged Braxton in her Instagram post‘s caption and said, “She’s an icon. She’s a legend.”

Kayla Nicole turned heads this Halloween, channeling Toni Braxton’s iconic “He Wasn’t Man Enough” era – and the internet instantly started connecting dots. fans are reading the look as a subtle mic-drop aimed at Taylor’s camp. After Taylor’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, dropped, listeners tuned into the track “Opalite” where Taylor sings lines like, “You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose,” which many believe targets Kayla and her past with Taylor’s fiancé, Travis Kelce. Whether it was shade or simply an ode to early-2000s R&B glamour, she KILLED the look!!!! ✨

Taylor Swift’s fans had a strong reaction to Travis Kelce’s ex’s Halloween costume — and it’s all because of her song choice. The song talks about a woman telling her ex’s new girlfriend (or wife) that the man “wasn’t man enough,” and it was enough for fans to assume the reference was personal.

As such, viewers quickly took to Kayla Nicole’s comment section. While supporters praised the confident tone, calling it “too good,” others weren’t as impressed. Even Toni Braxton herself wrote, “You killed it mama!” However, other users pointed out how the costume was a “shade” towards Kelce and his fiancée, Swift.

A viewer wrote, “This is so cringey. 2.5 years babe,” asking the model to “Move on.” Another emphasized the idea, writing, “Baby, it’s time to move on. Really.” Meanwhile, others poured her with praise, saying, “I can’t stop watching this,” and “Exactly what we’ve been waiting on.”

Nicole’s move comes after Swift released a track called “Opalite” from her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Fans believe the lyrics, “You were in it for real/ She was in her phone/ And you were just a pose,” were about Nicole.

Though Nicole hasn’t addressed the connection, this isn’t the first time she has been accused of using a costume to throw shade. As per Page Six, last year, she admitted on a podcast that a previous Halloween look was directed at another former relationship. Regardless of Kelce’s ex’s intentions, her costume once again put her in the spotlight. This time she got Swift’s fans — and the rest of the internet — talking.
