Ellen DeGeneres’ Wife To Make TV Comeback Amid Bullying Scandal — Insider

Portia de Rossi, wife of former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, is reportedly eyeing a major return to television. Industry insiders say the Arrested Development star could soon be joining the cast of a HBO hit series.

Insider claims Ellen DeGeneres’ wife is making a TV comeback

Seven years after stepping away from Hollywood, Portia de Rossi is reportedly being courted by HBO executives. She is reportedly being eyed for The White Lotus Season 4. The acclaimed anthology series, which is known for its dark social satire against the backdrop of jaw-dropping luxury, could be Rossi’s first major role since her self-imposed break from acting.

Sources close to the 52-year-old actress told RadarOnline that de Rossi is “tired of hiding out in the English countryside.” She is eager to revive her career after years of domestic life with DeGeneres. Now, HBO producers are said to be enthusiastic about the idea of de Rossi joining the cast, especially given her past success on Ally McBeal and Arrested Development.

One insider explained that filming The White Lotus typically feels like “a free vacation.” This is because past seasons have taken place in luxury resorts where actors often bring loved ones along. “The idea of de Rossi going off for five months to act on a streaming show makes sense,” the insider said. “The makers of The White Lotus understand that.”

However, insiders predict that her decision could create major friction with Ellen DeGeneres. “Ellen has no intention of leaving home and staying in some remote resort with a bunch of actors and their mates. She doesn’t want to tag along, and she doesn’t want Portia to go either,” a source claimed.

DeGeneres previously faced heavy backlash following a 2020 BuzzFeed News report. It revealed allegations of racial insensitivity, sexual harassment, and bullying behind the scenes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The allegations were based on interviews with 36 former employees.
