Megyn Kelly recently slammed Sydney Sweeney‘s revealing attire at Variety’s Power of Women event. She also unfavorably compared the latter’s dressing style to Kim Kardashian‘s. Further, the journalist and attorney speculated that the 28-year-old was tricked into wearing the dress. Notably, Kelly defended Sweeney earlier this year when the latter found herself in hot water due to backlash directed at her controversial American Eagle ad campaign.
Megyn Kelly on how Sydney Sweeney reminds her of Kim Kardashian
In a recent episode of her show, where she was joined by Allie Beth Stuckey, Megyn Kelly started her discussion on Sydney Sweeney by complimenting the latter. She called the actress a “real” and “actual woman,” adding that the latter was “absolutely stunning.”
Kelly then discussed Sweeney’s recent appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event. She expressed disapproval at the latter’s attire, saying, “I object to this. I disapprove of the dress she wore because it’s completely see through. You can see her entire n******.” However, she clarified that the Euphoria star’s breasts were “spectacular.”
Kelly took it a step further by unfavorably comparing the two-time Emmy nominee to Kim Kardashian. The former America Live host explained that Kardashian tended to “overshare” with her dresses, only to take away the quality that made her attractive.
She continued, “Now I know this is being universally celebrated online, but I have to say, even though [I am a] Sydney Sweeney fan, love the jeans campaign, I thought this was a rare misstep.”
Stuckey, when asked for her thoughts, agreed with Kelly, saying that women could show their beauty while also dressing in a dignified way. She added that they should “draw the line at Areola.” Kelly concurred, exclaiming, “Yes! Draw the line at Areola! That should be the rule!”
The former America’s Newsroom co-host speculated that Sweeney and other Hollywood celebrities were being manipulated into wearing revealing outfits.
“‘I kind of think she might have been misled into it,” Kelly shared. She recalled the time she did a “saucy photoshoot” for GQ, where she wore “appropriate” clothing. “It was just a slip dress. That’s all it was,” she explained. “That’s all it was. I did not show anything close to areola then, I never would.”
Kelly highlighted Sweeney’s age, speculating that someone had brought her the dress and told her, “Now we’ll take it next level.” She added that Sweeney “trusted the wrong person.”
